The Pinot Noir is the only grape variety in Alsace to produce red or rosé wine. The wines are generally characterized by the aroma of black cherries. After some time they often develop aromas of other red and black wild berries such as blackberries and blueberries.
Alsace Pinot Noir are often light fruity red wines with pleasant aromas of cherry and raspberry. However, with low yields, great maturities, beautiful colour, with a longer fermentation, they are sometimes aged in oak barrels, producing well-built wines, with aromas of ripe cherries and leather.

persistence on empyreumatic notes.
WINE PAIRING It would be an excellent companion to any feast, going well with, for instance, duck breast with red berries, tournedos of venison with cranberries or a steak fillet with mushrooms.

TASTING NOTES The nose reveals notes of spices (vanilla, pepper) and black berries. On the palate, the tannins are structured with good length and notes of blackcurrant.
WINE PAIRING Enjoy it with mozzarella and basil salad, red meats (beef and lam) and barbecues, roast poultry, game, tuna and salmon, medium to stronger cheeses.
