Riesling Grand Cru Pfingstberg Lucien Albrecht

All the grape varieties of this Grand Cru have a remarkable typicity. Riesling are chiselled and fresh. The Pfingstberg wines show an impressive aging capacity. Their ability to remain focused and tense throughout the ages gives them a form of timelessness.

The delicate aromas of the Riesling Grand Cru Pfingstberg fit perfectly with raw or grilled fish and roasted poultry.

Alsace signs a good vintage 2012 which looks relatively homogeneous. There have been beautiful starts of the vegetative cycles thanks to a sunny spring, punctuated by beneficial rains. Summer was more difficult to handle because of precipitation which was more frequent at the end of June. From mid-August, the fine weather resumed, allowing the vines to perfect their maturity.

Straw yellow color with silver tints. Refined and mineral nose, blossom notes. Straightforward attack, fresh, racy, great length, same flavors as in the nose.

Temperature of service: 8– 10° C°

Aging capacity: 3 to 15 years.

Site of Orschwihr, mostly clay-limestone soils (western slope of the Bollenberg) and sandstone (Bergholtz) east oriented.

For the making of our Grands Crus we use perfectly ripe and healthy grapes from carefully cultivated and selected vineyards. The yields are low and the vineyards are generally planted with old vines. For these wines we focus on terroir or vineyard expression with all elements that influence the aromas, the composition and typical character of each Grand Cru.
