LUCIEN ALBRECHT in the 2008 GUIDES

LE GUIDE HACHETTE DES VINS 2008

"Riesling Clos Schild 2005 Grand Cru Pfingstberg: the estate spreads greedily across the steep hills of Pfingstberg including the Clos Schild, a vineyard walled by drystone and planted with Riesling vines. A pale yellow with golden reflections, this 2005 has a blended nose of flowers with a fine minerality. Initially fresh and lively, it reveals ripe orchard fruits until the end note with a return to elegant minerality. Ready to drink today, it can also be stored for a decade."

GUIDE GILBERT & GAILLARD DES VINS 2008
"Riesling Grand Cru Pfingstberg 2003: a pale golden robe. The nose reveals a very pure expression where minerals dominate. In the mouth, there is a clever mix of fullness and aromatic austerity."

LES MEILLEURES VINS DE FRANCE DE LA REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE 2008

"Meticulous work has been carried out on the organically grown vines, then harvested by hand. The estate has the largest Pfingstberg grand cru vineyard including the Clos Schild, producing with a regularity worthy of praise for a well-balanced wine with its frank and clean aromas; it is excellent value for money."

GAULT MILLAU LE VIN 2008
"Jean Albrecht carries out meticulous work on the vines to produce some very good wines. Remarkable quality with imposing, aromatic and dense wines that do not fall into the trap of excess and heaviness. All the wines pay tribute to an exceptional quality of work."

LE GRAND GUIDE DES VINS DE FRANCE 2008

"The range of wines from the estate stretches around Orschwihr village, with a large part of this same grand cru, and also Bollenberg.
Enjoy the Pfingstberg wines which are remarkably elegant and don't miss the Weid Pinot Noir from Bollenberg."
